New to this, I have started a double trunk to train for a 6' trellis chain and have rubbed sour lower buds and removed blossoms but I did'nt cut suckers at bottom and have a couple lateral shoots that get kinda big that I feel may be taking growth from my two elected shoots. Even though vines are growing good. Temps here contained by Ky are in the 90's is it to overdue to cut suckers and unwanted shoots? Or should i wait till hasty next spring?
Answers:    Hey Rick! I also live contained by Ky. I don't believe it would hurt them to prune them back at this time of the year,how-ever I would do it within the late evening and you might want to paint the cut ends beside a Liquid you can purchase at your local Nursery! If in doubt roughly speaking pruning right now,it would be a well-mannered idea to ask someone at the Nursery! Good-Luck Neighbor!
i grow tobacco and suckers are unpromising news they will out grow your plant its self i cut them no event what. this is only my assessment but i have never kill one yet. newly watch the plants closely i check my each day in the morning and evening after adjectives on them i get ride of any yellowing at the lower parts and preserve in watered looking for bugs also. contained by past experience these vines are hardy i live within Texas so the climate difference could affect the way we do things so i hope this is some serve to you.
