I have be growing vegetables in boxes and plenty, when they are used up can I add the outdated compost to my bin?
Answers: Yes. Layering fresh items like weeds/fruit peelings/comfrey etc etc between the 'spent' potting compost works capably and can help you to build up 'heat' and this breakdown the 'fresh' materials quicker.
You can also 'revive' your potting compost by using a gooey fertiliser, that you water contained by - that can be useful too.
Best point for it, also if you can get some horse mess, thats great to add to your compost, and don't permit it dry out too much in the summer!
