I have recently land a job with a private disguise company and i want to make sure i'm not getting shafted in take-home pay.
Answers: What do mean "private"? If you are going to be doing the work and picking out the materials, you would be considered a contractor and can charge up to $40 an hour, plus overhead (add 10-30% markup on materials and plants). If you are just "hired help", next you shouldn't expect to get paid more than $12 an hour. Keep surrounded by mind that if you are bidding on jobs, give yourself some "move from side to side room" as far as how long you think the job will pocket. If getting paid by the hour, you want to make sure you're not getting done too rapid! Some jobs are more labor intensive than others (retaining walls)and some are simply planting shrubs and flowers. Take what you are doing into consideration when bidding. You also don't want to bid too low and get shafted if your costs are more than your bid. Do some shopping around and know what different suppliers charge for same materials so you are armed beside information when contacted for a job to better give an notion of what to bid or charge.
If it is on the books starting wages should be between 10 and 12. When you gain some experience and knowledge your discharge should be raised. Get a three month agreement for a review and raise. Give it adjectives you can and learn all you can. Some laborers fashion up to $20 at least, but working for someone else who is paying taxesand taking all the risks, on files probably tops out about $17. A lot depends on your attitude strength and speed. It is good work.
