I have some 60 year old Camelia trees. They are covered contained by buds and they only open in the middle before falling of. Is there any instrument to fix it so they open fully before falling of. They are also opening up high where I can't conquer them even with a ladder. They purloin the morning sun only and are in shade from roughly 12.00pm onwards.
The first two answerers are correct..I also have a camelia on my deck..it is A winter blooming plant ours begins anywhere from delayed october to mid november..then bloom through the winter into the early spring...afterwards it gets too hot they quit blooming It is probably too hot for them - camellias will not open properly is it is too hot.

cammellias have lage problems with bud drop. pruning it posterior a little seems to lend a hand. camellias can have 100s of blooms, but a few buds wont bloom. if they all dont bloom cut the plant pay for a little only and it should modernize. sometimes cold kills the buds, but i doubt thats the problem Not enough dampen.

If the plants are left too dry over a long period, buds will drop back they have a chance to sympathetic.

Answers:    I don't know where you live, but I think the problem is warmth related they are getting to cold, My Camelia start setting bloom in November and all bloom hold dropped by March. On really cold nights I would try to protect them, I enjoy them at any stage of gap.

Good Luck
