I spent a good bit of money on some lilies and I of late got them surrounded by 4 days ago. I put them in the refridgerator until the weather cleared up. It's still raining approaching crazy so I have to continue a little longer. How long can I safetly preserve them this way lacking hurting them?
Answers: Be sure you haven't got any apples or fruit contained by the refrigerator with them; ripening fruit puts stale an ethane gas that will kill flower buds. They should be undisruptive otherwise until the weather clears up, and you really don't need to hold them refrigerated anyway, remember contained by the garden centers how they are sold, in boxes, within the aisles? For weeks? No refrigeration.
as long as they don't dry out, cover the container (if it isn't air tight) near a damp cloth. Plant until that time the ground freezes solid.
