Buds on a cannabis plant? So I've moved to live with my great uncle for a few...

So I've moved to live with my great uncle for a few months and I 've found a cannabis plant at the bottom of the garden
and before I budge yes I am 100% sure it is one
But everyone is telling me about these 'buds'
but adjectives I can se is loads of leaves

what exactly am I looking here for? I want to dry the buds out for my own personal use at my own risk.

Answers:    it may be too early in the season for the plant to start to flower. We enjoy just passed the solitice, so the days have purely started to get shorter. This tells the plant it is time to flower. It may lift till mid- July to see any reproductive parts of the plant.. Just wait , would be my advice. It may turn out to be a boy and they aren't worth much.
