I just need to know the ground rules. I don't want links to websites, I already looked at those. All the leaves are turning brown and falling off mine.
If you checked the web sites consequently you know it is not a houseplant.

There are BOTH indoor AND outdoor bonsai. You have not indicated which type you have nor where on earth you are keeping it. If you're keeping a ficus outdoors it should be inside. If you're keeping an acer indoors it should be outside. If it is a new acquisition it may be suffering trauma as a result of the recent transfer in its home. Maybe you need to own a look at those websites again and identify your plant and make certain you are providing the requirements of life for it. Looking at sites and learning from them are two totally different things.
