Bay tree back next to brown leaves? I have rather an old, life-size bay tree. Last summer...

I have rather an old, life-size bay tree. Last summer we did the garden up and repotted it from the garden to a big pot. A year later and it appears to be dying! What can I do?! It have always be healthy so I assume it might not enjoy liked anyone moved? I do not overwater and it is in the sunlight as past. Should I simply repot in larger pot? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks
Our bay have had brown leaves from getting too cold, they don't close to getting below 40 degrees. Another produce can be if you just used garden soil instead of potting mix when you put it surrounded by the pot. Garden soil is typically too dense to allow for good dampen flow and nutrition pickup.

You might want to try knocking some of the soil sour and giving ti some potting medium to blanch the mix, or even replant it in the ground again. If you do choose to pot it up remove dirt, as much as possible, and confer it clean potting mix.

Good luck

We enjoy had some extremely cold wind this winter. That, together with the repotting could hold caused palm leaf browning. If it only affects segment of the plant, try cutting it put a bet on to healthy growth.

Please, also, check the soil contained by the pot for the dreaded vine weevil ('C' shaped white grubs in the soil)

It is also possible that you tatty the roots too much whilst transplanting it, in which armour try to take some cuttings from any fighting fit shoots, the rest of the plant can then die sour if that's the way it's opinion!.
Answers:    I don't know if you are talking give or take a few a sweet bay, the type used contained by cooking, but mine were other in the ground, never potted. Whenever the leaves did start turning brown I removed that expert stem. They do like to be groomed.. i.e. the leaves snipped. They do not embezzle a lot of wet but do like moisture. Good that you hold it in sunlight as they tend to return with the mold on the leaves when in shade. Also, I used to apply an grease spray once a year to mine. If you must have it surrounded by a pot then I would step with the larger one.
