Can you please recommend a base for a veranda built with interlocking/paving stones? Also, I requirement to build a small retaining wall to even the level. Any special bottom for that one?
easy retaining wall and relatively cheap is the cooperation wall. base for your balcony should be road base , concrete, or crusher dust adjectives compacted. road base and crusher dust can enjoy cement added to help coagulate.

Yes, I can help. We only finished a project like that at our house.

Patio: Make sure the surface is horizontal. Apply sand as the base and later rent a "tamper" to pound it down so the pavers do not shift or sink. Start putting pavers down. When you are done, use fine sand to cover the pavers and sweep with a broom so the extra sand will be in motion between the pavers. Lightly mist and wa-al - you have a striking patio.

Retainer wall using pavers - same prep as the court apply. The first row of pavers should be 1/2 into the ground for support; stack as you want (no sand) and you can use mortar if you want - or not ... it's all nouns. The rule of thumb for any kind of support is if the wall is more than 4 pavers giant, support is needed. :)

Good Luck!
Answers:    Build your retaining wall firs with a accurate 1/2" of gravel 8" deep. this is for drainage,
Then even spot for patio. But manufacture it low enough to put surrounded by 6" of crusher run gravel and level it afterwards about 1 1/2" of sand and be incredibly care full to rank the sand. this is the most important division. Make sure it will be the right height that when you lay the pavers they will be the distance from the ground you need when finished. You can slope it away from house for rainfall run off.
If you don't grasp the sand level next to a slope if you want. Then you will have to bring up the pavers and do them over. Good luck
