I am installing nearly 40 metal fence posts, respectively with concrete basis, in a amazingly frost proned region. I was told that I should backfill around respectively concrete base beside screened sand to allow for maximum drainage away from the posts. Does this nouns right? What if I used crushed rock instead?
Answers: You really only inevitability to be concerned that the concrete is deep adequate (below frost line) to avoid heaving. Or at least gravel or crushed rock sub-base to frost rank. Backfill dosen't really matter.
