(& idk if i shud make my own? or acquire a complete?

Answers:    Most decks are around the same if your in recent times getting started the only solid stress you will be putting on it will be kicking it into a curb or leaving it outside contained by the rain. A complete board will usually enjoy a cheaper version of trucks, wheel, and bearings but the deck will be alike. get a board that you will be comfortable riding on and cheap adequate to leave you money for pad and a helmet. good luck and protect your mellon, its the single one you've got.
