Answers:    Mechanical measures, hoe them out, verbs them out, probably the safest.

You can smother them with tabloid or plastic if they are in a bed or similar growing nouns.

Vinegar will burn off annual weed but do nothing for the perennial weed as the roots, tubers, etc remain unaffected.
