Poison Oak looks like a bush kindof - long branches sticking out of the ground bunched together next to reddish colored leaves.

Not sure going on for the Ivy. We really only own the Oak here in Oregon.

Answers:    poison ivy and poison oak are both vines that can grow on trees, but by themselves, they are closer related to bushes or weed.
