We have abundantly of groundhogs in our courtyard. And the mother just have 5 babies, around a week and a half ago. Today I go outside to check the temperature of my pool, and I found a little one groundhog, soaked on the step of my pool, and he couldn't get out. He be shaking. I didn't know what to do, so I moved it onto the grass. And its just sitting here. Its not moving at all, and not a soul from his family is coming over to aid him. Anybody know what to do about this? Should I newly continue to resign from him there? He's still alive. I'm hoping that he's merely in shock, and that he will move contained by a little while when he get over the shock, but there is also closely of chlorine in the pool, which probably hurt him, so somebody please lend a hand. I really don't want this baby groundhog to die!
Answers: Hi- if its not to unpaid already, call your local veterinarians bureau or animal control. And kudos to you for being so concerned something like the animals; we need more empire like you around.
I would direction not to touch the animal as you have no hypothesis what his reaction might be if he is worried... Perhaps you could put a bowl filled next to cool water a few foot away from him so he does not become dehydrated.Good luck; I'll merely assume a happy finish... :)
You could call an animal hospital and explain the situation to them. They should know what can be done.
