Any concept for spineless, non-poisonus cactus or succulents for a sunny courtyard? I'm worried roughly speaking dampen ration I have a small courtyard with unshaded southern and western areas....
I have a small courtyard with unshaded southern and western areas. I inevitability something safe for kids, dogs, and cats, so are in attendance any non-poisonus, spineless cacti or succulents that don't grow to giant sizes? There will probably be water ration this year and probably my lawn will die. I'd similar to something that will still be green at least subsequent to the house. I am trying a thornless prickly pear in one spot (starting next to a single pad) and several echeveria (I've heard they don't resembling intense sun, but trying them anyway) but need other planning. Thanks!

Hope this help you some. You can also incorporate some ornamental grasses if you resembling to add some texture. There are deeply that are drought tolerant.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Senecio. There are some succulent types similar to Senecio vitalis and the like that you can use.

There are dozens of variety of sedum that look like cacti, although they ar not surrounded by that family. But consequently they also do not have prickly or poisonous attributes, any. Have a look at your local greenhouse to see what grows in your nouns. Sedum are inexpensive, many are evergreen and they are confident to grow. Many also have nice blooms, such as the autumn thrill variety.
