I am growing Hoyas in australia, I have problems beside scale and sooty mould, any advice on what to use to gain rid of this?
I would recommend in the first instance a quality spray grease such as PestOil (Yates).
If that fails try a systemic insecticide that's still reasonably 'safe' such as MaxGuard (by Scotts) or Confidor (Yates).
With any product follow adjectives safety instructions & read the label earlier using to assess the products appropriateness for your needs.

clean the plant with alcohol and water
use a miscible grease spray
also check the soil for an infestation of mealy bugs
you will probably need to use a systemic insecticide to get rid of adjectives the scale
the sooty mold is a by-product of the scale diversion
Answers:    I had this same problem, but with a different plant the other sunshine at the greenhouse I work at. The guy had a huge leaf and it be absolutely covered in degree. What I was told to give him be Bonide. It's a systemic so it could take longer to work. About 3 weeks. He said he'd already tried it and it wasn't working even after about 6 weeks. So we go with the insecticidal soap instead. You spray that directly onto the leaves on top and underneath so it works on contact. I know that'll take attention of the scale. I'm sure there's nothing too transparent about a Hoya that the soap would hurt. Try that. As for the sooty mold, it's a fungus to try some fung away but read the booklet first and make sure it's ok for houseplants. Hoya is a houseplant here contained by Georgia, U.S.A., by the way. I hope that helps you. Good luck!
