These blighters are twice the size of a pin-head, look like mini-woodlice, and own taken up residence in my kitchen window-sill (indoor) Aloe Vera plants. I meekly pick them off and squash them periodically (and they ooze red fluid) - I pick past its sell-by date about 8-10 every three weeks...so not exactly swarming. What are they??? ... and how do I grasp rid of them ???
Answers: I think those are call "mealy bugs" they're a common pest for cacti and succulents.
A lot of folks recommend dabbing them next to a q-tip soaked with alcohol but I don't focus that really works. Don't get me wrong it help but not enough to eliminate them all. What I do is cart the plant outside and hose off adjectives the soil from the roots and blast the leaves making sure to get the "crotches" of the leaves.
You've probably own gotten all of them rotten at this point and should check the plant regularly to make sure they don't come spinal column.
It sounds like a ascend bug of some sort. Try www.whatsthatbug.com for a better identification. Taking the plant outside and treating it next to a systemic insecticide should sort it out. If you do this please read the label and do not drink the Aloe Juice afterwards.
