site has recently be evicted. the council have now arranged that the particular allotment she had will be divided into 2 to be paid 2 extra. the current plotholders are now really concerned that we will all hold to half our own patches. can the council do this, or do they hold to wait until each one is vacate to change it. ?? thanks.
Why worry almost something that has not yet happen? On Council plots the Council alone have jurisdiction, but this has not even so happened. Keep you plot tidy, grow plenty of veg. and stop worrying. There are some tips below.

Why not worry about this,if and when it happen. Are all of the allotments taken at present? It maybe within is a waiting list and the council wants to serve as various people as possible.Usually, allotments are not oversubscribed ,so I doubt that the division of plots will take place unless the current holders hold been complaining that the plots are too large.Hope you are getting plenty of produce bad of your garden. The council rents you the land and can do what they want with it. If they choose to evict everyone and turn the complete place into a landfill, that is their right.

Speaking from personal experience, they don't evict anyone lightly however so this entity must have not maintained their parkland properly and almost certainly didn't pay their rent.

If yours is very well maintained, you don't break any plot rules and are generally no trouble later the if the council does decide they need to sub-divide the plots, consequently yours will be one of the last because you keep it surrounded by good condition.
Answers:    In the Allotment Act (1922)
¡°...an allotment not exceeding 40 poles* within extent which is wholly or mainly cultivated by the occupier for the production of vegetables or fruit by himself or his family connections.¡±
*40 poles is equivalent to 1,210 yards2 or
1,012 m2. (1 pole = c. 30 1/4 yards2.

The law says nought about being beneath 40 poles. However when you took the plot you agreed to look after that plot. I don't think they could change the plot in need braking that agreement.
