I have comparatively a few Washingtonias growing over 30 feet soaring in my put a bet on yard, which I stopped pruning 4 years ago. Last week, almost ALL the unresponsive leaves in one of them fell bad together in a bunch (approximately 60 leaves). They downed our power lines and dog-eared one of our citrus trees. Fortunately, my dogs werenĄ¯t anywhere near.
I preserve reading on the internet that dead leaves never leak off by themselves.
Has this ever happen to you? I wish to know if this is a set risk with this type of palm trees?
Answers: Yes the washingtonia robusta is call the mexican fan palm.
What it is doing is pruning itself...Best article to do is hire a maintenance landscaper to trim them around hasty spring.
This should be done at least once per year and it will hang on to them attractive and healthy.
I thought it be fairly mundane, it's what gives them that buzzard collar look. RScott
