Answers:    Check the flemings.com (they are probably the biggest tree grower in Australia), site give you many trees to look at. Do you get saline spray where you are? or are you on a bay or river, this will form a big difference. Your height is very restrictive you are really merely looking at at tall shrub. Would you perhaps consider a Native Frangapani (Hymenosporum), taller than what you own suggested but will enjoy Sydney, fragrant blooms and house yard friendly. Perhaps a Magnolia 'Little Gem' may also suit or a hugely tall variety of lillypilly. Give the palm trees a miss. Most are messy and look absurd - it's like Florida in the Native bush, also they don't caste much shade.

Gardening Australia site have a good plant finder that you may find useful. If you are single going to have a limited number of trees pick something really virtuous don't settle for ordinary such as flowing ash, theyre in lots of gardens and never look any accurate.
