Answers:    I think it would be sold by the yard. A courtyard of anything is a 3' cube or cubic yard. So applying it 4" thick a cubic patio you will get you 36" divide by 4" equals 9 three foot square sections or 81 square foot about an 8x10 area. I hope this is what you are getting at.
