Wood deck initiation to crack what do I apply to fix this. I thought it be pressure treated wood.?
You should apply a water sealer...If the deck is ripened, I would put a stain on it.I used Thompsons deck stain in Honey oine and my deck looks brand tentative..
You can sometimes fix cracked lumber by clamping the cracked spot together and driving one or more deck screws into it contained by such a way as to hold the separated parts together. That method you might have to remove the board so that you can access the side of the wood if the crack is vertical.
Pressure-treating is usually done to prevent mold and microbes growth, and to kill stale insects that try to bore into the wood. It doesn't do much to prevent cracking.
Answers: Could be due to one of two things:
* Natural dehydration of the wood
* Compression shrinkage
