I recently bought some fanlight plastic insulation.. the shrink wrap kind, as I did the year in the past. Only this winter I have an alarm installed, and there's sensors on the window. Will the insulation affect the sensors? As there will be cold nouns between the window and the plastic where on earth the sensors are located.
Answers: I worked for an alarm company for 9 years. If your sensors are wireless, I do not recommend you use the plastic insulation. First reason is that the battery in the sensors own a tendency to contract slightly during the winter. This scheme they will not fit snugly within the component itself-causing it to false. (Don't want that to happen) Also the air explicitly being trapped between the porthole and the plastic seal, is MUCH more colder. Second, you'll find your freestyle life shortened by 70% considering the drop surrounded by the climate. If you have hardwired sensors - Go for it. You own nothing to loose. Good luck, my sensors are wireless:):):) and I enjoy leaks too!
