An artist looking to use a brass wedge for a project. Is it possible to find one without have it custom made? The size doesn't have to be that specific. Approximately the size of a shim (maybe a little thicker), or a doorstop would be supreme. If I had to specify, 2 inches wide, 5 inches long, 1/2 inch at top and taper to a point at the bottom. Thanks!
Find a local machine shop in your nouns. Give them your dimensions and they should be able to make one for you near no trouble. All it takes is a flat piece of brass and a milling machine, along next to some time. A good machinist can make anything out of anything. So merely look in the phone book, and pick some one close. Tell them what you want, or draw them a picture. They will be able to manufacture it.

I agree, I have a funky little older blacksmiths type shop in my town that makes me adjectives sorts of odd metal things. Usually charges me 20 bucks for small jobs. Old men surrounded by overalls work there. There is usually a dog asleep in the shade.
Lookin the pale pages for 'Machine shop" or "Welding", same shops often do weld.

But you might ck the sources from some of the old fashioned hardware suppliers and restoration hardware people, see join below:
