The vent over my stove is hard-wired. Other people hold written that it's fairly unforced to install an outlet but I'd like to research it earlier I try it myself. I have deep-seated DIY skills, have worked next to electricity before, but never installed a wall jack.

Answers:    You should know how to find some good books at your local library. Recently I checked out one from Black and Decker call "The Complete Guide to Home Wiring." It has excellent pictures and tutorials that show you how to do this.
