Answers:    a toggle bolt would work if u can't find a ceiling joist.ask in the hardware store to show u one.when inserted within the ceiling it will spring into a T shape and holding in place...strong satisfactory for a small cage.if its a cloying cage better find the joist to screw into
You didn't articulate how much the cage weigh but one good passageway to find your joists within the ceiling if the room is an outside room is to stand at a window or nearest door and look outside up below the eave. The joists most possible are running into the room perpendicular to that outside wall. Follow the joist into the room and come into the room as far as you entail to place our hook. Packages for hooks and anchors have ratings on them and you will discover that it is usually injudicious to use any plastic anchors in ceiling for bearing loads. If you use the toggle bolts that embark on up, at least try to return with it close to the wood. It will be stronger than in the middle of the sheetrock.
