The previous occupants put up some attractive fixtures on the outside walls, and I want to take them down for burning. Some of the screw are too stiff for me to turn however- is there any swift and easy channel to loosen them up?
Answers: Since you are disposing of the fixtures by burning I assume they are wood. If they are regular boards (not plywood) maybe you can split it at the screw holes next to a big screwdriver, wood chisel etc, and pull the stuff down. Now, you will hold prodruding screws that you can efficiently grab next to Vise-grips pliers and unscrew or, if they are really rusted in solid, basically snap them off stratum with the wall surface. If it is plywood, nick a hole saw, and drill right next to respectively screw untill almost all the instrument through, now with care pry the fixtures off departing several little "plugs" of wood which can easily be split away and the screw removed as described above.
