We have three rooms near wood floors in our home when we bought it. They are, from what I acquire, real wood floors, not tile or linoleum. Thye enjoy alot of scratches and I would immensely much like to see them within good shape and shiny. I am not a fix - er - upper. What would I want to do this, and what approx would be the cost.
The rooms are two medium bedrooms and a long and decrease kitchen floor.
Answers: I just did my floors. Don't listen to those who speak to hire someone. They most likely own never done it.
I'll tell you exactly how to do it:
1. Rent a belt sander. NOT and orbital.
2. Rent an orbital "edger"
3. You'll want sandpaper, they supply that right where you rent the sander. attain 30 grit, 60 grit and 100 grit for both machines.
4. Mke sure the floor is ready. Remove adjectives the vents and any staples and pound down or verbs up any nails.
5. Hang tarps to cover the nouns you are sanding from the rest of the house.
6. Wear a dusk cover. Don't bother with the goggles, they purely fog up.
7. Open the windows within your house when you sand. You'll want to do all the sand in soon, so be prepared.
The hardest part is putting the sandpaper on the sander and making sure it's within there right. Once you find it, it works really well. Make sure not to stay within one place too long with the sander.
You involve to sand the entire floor with respectively level of sandpaper. (using both edger and belt sander)
