Just looked in the building regs booth 17 - "Access and facilities for disabled people".
The single palm leaf opening wishes to be 1000mm - see section 17.21, it shows it on diagram 17.8
take hold of rails, loo and mixing bowl position are also defined.
Our local council guidelines ( just looked for you ) also say aloud 1000mm
where possible a disabled access door should plain outwards.
Of course this is generic disability wheelchair access. There are many forms of disability including blindness, deaf, limbless and you don't really utter what.
If you are just doing a private residential assignment and they haven't specifically asked for disabled access you do not have to follow these regs, of late normal bulding regs.
If you private email me your address I'd be optimistic to send you a photocopy or bit down some of the distances for you, no probs.
If you are constructing an "en suite" which will require access for a wheelchair you should be thinking of a metre width, but after it depends on the type of wheelchair, Best have a calculate up
