What lightbulb will fit this oil lamp? I found this lamp within my basement and want to use it....
I found this lamp within my basement and want to use it. It doesn't enjoy a lightbulb in it, and I couldn't find info on this oil lamp online. Below are the links to some pictures of the lamp and the socket. Max recommended wattage is 100w.

The bulb should be something like 3" long and cylindrical in shape. Thanks for any facilitate!!!
It sounds resembling a type J and 100 watts. Try an electrical store
It's an out-of-date halogen lamp--used to have one at my organization. Take the old bulb near you for comparison and you should be able to find one at a well-stocked hardware store or lighting store, although, you may own even better luck at a local or smaller hardware that might have outmoded stock. I had trouble finding one just about three years ago and the big-box store told me to try the smaller places nearby (which have them in stock). It's a shame, but, if you can't find a different bulb (for what is apparently considered an "older" lamp), the lamp is worthless.
If you do find a bulb, watch out not to touch the new bulb near bare fingers when putting it in--the grease from your fingers can get superheated & exact the bulb to blow. I learned this the intricate way!
Good luck.
Answers: Looks like a halogen bulb housing--but at 100 w?
Just steal the old one to a hardware store and they will set you up
