I need to cut some curtain poles down to size. The info that come with the poles said to use a junior hacksaw, but when I showed a friend my junior hacksaw, he said the blade be not suitable (I use if for sawing picture frame). What sort of blade do I need to take ?
Junior hack saw are notorious for wandering as you cut because the blade is flimsy. This give a cut that is not square to the pole. Suggest if it is metal that you find a proper hacksaw and if wood a tenon saw is best.
Your friend is unambiguously not clued up.
A junior hacksaw is the ideal tool for the brief.Ignore other answerers that specify certain amounts of teeth or even other saw.
Use the saw.it will take roughly 10 seconds to cut through the pole.
Answers: Use a Hacksaw with an 18 t.p.i blade [teeth per inch] if it's wooden and a 24 t.p.i blade if it is metal.
