The box of color remover says to use a porcelain or stainless steel pot, but not aluminum or non-stick. What will crop up if I use an aluminum pot? The chemicals seem to be pretty strong, so I'm afraid it will act in response with the aluminum or something. Is it nontoxic?
Answers: I don't remember the exact chemicals, but I think it give off toxic gas. Don't use the aluminum pot, or a porcelain pot with chips contained by the enamel.
The bad communication is, it will not be safe to use the pot for food afterwards. Try looking for a stainless steel stockpot or spaghetti pot at a thrift store, or you'll extremity up spending more on the pot than on the garment you're trying to fix.
