What equipment is used for intalling tiles into bathrooms, kitchens etc. and how is it done? ...
Doc is right (again!).
The one and only other things I would like to hold one hand is a couple of nibblers, a margin trowel (for hindmost buttering smaller pieces) and a good set of knees pads.
Hope this help . . .

That's one big question to try and answer here.
Answers: This could be lengthy.
I tile nearly every daylight of my life, and equipment vary by need and size of a mission.
Wet/Dry Tile saws
Diagonal Grinder
Diamond blades
Tile Cutter (Manual Break)
Rectangular Mortar trowels (square tooth edges 1/4 surrounded by. ~ 1/8 inch)
Buckets for water
supply of rag for general cleanups
rubber + spacers
GROUT:
Rectangular, rubberized grout squeegie trowel
Flat, specific grout sponges
Both processes entail something to mix in, and access to a hose down supply.
HOW it's done: Simple version:
Measure nouns (determine tile needs)
Determine perimeter and interior cuts
Square nouns
meausure for some center point
snap two perpendicular chalk lines
mix mortar
(MY preference)
Lay out a course of tile dry to determine most full sheets showing, adjust at the center line as needed
Mix mortar (consistency of mash potato
apply to substrate with notched trowel (1/4 for floors)
Set tile, contained by manageable work areas (allow access to escape, to avoid kneel on set tiles.
I save cust for ending, and install last.
Use spacers to save tiles apart and squared.
press gently, checking flush and horizontal
scoop excess mortar from grout lines beside rubber spacers
allow at least 24 hrs dry/set time.
Grouting
Mix grout, same as mortar (small quantity at a time
remove spacers
apply grout with rubberized squeegie
wipe at angles to the grout lines, flushing the grout to tile obverse
First wipe: Barely damp grout sponge
As grout sets, wipe beside modestly increased moisture
by the third decent wipe, you should be capable of leave it alone. Any residue by consequently, should be dust when dry, easy to mop.
allow at tiniest 24 hrs. dry/set time for grout
Allow longer for sealing grout
Restore the room to its prior state, NOT dragging items across the floor.
