What does 1/2" 4x8 Birch Lumber miserable? I'm a newbie to anything hands-on related and I have never taken...

I'm a newbie to anything hands-on related and I have never taken any type of a woodshop class. So please, pick up the flaming because I realize how basic a cross-question this actually is.

My guess is that the wood is 1/2 an inch gluey and 4 feet by 8 foot. Is this correct? Thanks!

Answers:    You're almost there. It is probably a Birch veneer plywood if it's 4' x 8'. You can also catch veneered plywood contained by cherry, oak, etc.
