removing paint by
burning off next to the flame meathood
burning off beside a hot air gun
using gooey paint striper
the singular time i would use a flame is when i have a serious amount of weak paint to remove, its very apposite for this purpose, downside to this is it can give of toxic fumes if the paint is hoary and damage the wood, and you stipulation to watch out surrounded by case you set things flaming

i would use a hot air gun on flat surfaces solely for detailed work like Bannister's architraves and spindles its no biddable for getting paint out of small gaps, downside to this is It can nick a while, and leave burn marks if your not fussy but all contained by all its a pretty correct way to remove weak paint

paint stripper like nitromors is what i use most, once applied it will start to get through away at the paint, its quick, it can remove multiple layer at a time and its good for detailed work and voluminous areas, and wont damage the wood underneath. Its the best process if you want to take the surface spinal column to bare wood if you intend to stain the wood as it wont burn, the downside to stripper is its caustic so burns the skin, so ideally you should wear googles and gloves and you call for to sheet up the area your working on as it will overexploit anything it comes onto contact with

i tend to use both a paint stripper and hot nouns gun and scrape next to a shave hook to get the best results, but i single strip very matured paint that has a significant amount of paint build up, in general you can get away next to a good rub down and paint over the existing paint, if done right you can get hold of the same results as if you be to strip the old paint sour.
burning stale with the flame meathood

?? faster - but could burn down the place

burning bad with a hot nouns gun
Good for getting into the small spots - but costs a lot within electrics to finish the job.

using juice paint striper
Good for fussy detail work - fumes can kill you within a closed in room. Rough on the skin if it falls on you also.
Answers:    The disadvantage of the flame method are fairly plain, big red truck, blue lights, burly guys with big hoses. Perhaps not a disadvantage later... but I digress.

The Liquid stripper absolutely stinks. It is Incredibly messy and yuk. But it is express. And easier on fiddly corners.

The hot air gun is the best pick (I think anyway) Its smooth to use, you wont set anything alight unless you are really careless, but it is the slowest of the methods.

Happy stripping.
For removing paint from wood that is to be refinished , a chemical stripper is best.
No hazard of scorching the wood w/ heatgun or flame.
No smoke & fumes.
Direct heat can "cook" the paint on & brand name cleanup difficult.
On metal, a heatgun or torch is good but you really hold to turn the paint to ash for a clean available job.
