Answers:    You might poke around at http://sewing.about.com -- it's get some good greenhorn projects and some good starter explanations.

You might also have a sneaking suspicion that about joining some groups similar to "justsew" on quiltropolis or "creative machine" on yahoo groups, and just sagging around reading and asking questions. Justsew is profoundly quieter than creativemachine, but if you ask a question, you'll bring help surrounded by either group, I'm sure.
