I need to weld sever pieces of metal togeather with a propane blow torch. Do I necessitate to have the protective goggles to shield the bright light? And if I do will regular sunglasses work?
Answers: No eye wear is needed near a propane torch. If it is acetylene and oxygen blow torch you need a #5 lens shield. If it's a arch welder you need a #10 lens shield.
You can't weld beside a propane torch though. You can only solder things with it.
It is not credible a Propane torch will have enough fry to melt any type metal enough to weld it. You entail cutting glasses/goggles for this. They have a number 5 lens within them. Yes, and maybe. You do need eye protection.
Sun goggles are usually not dark enough.
