Water Well Question? I've just moved into a ten year infirm house I recently...

I've just moved into a ten year infirm house I recently purchased. I am largely handy but well and septic are exotic to me.

In looking to shock chlorinate my well as the prior owners permit everything deteriote I have come up near perhaps a silly grill - I have paperwork indicating my capably is a 6.25" diameter steel well. What appears to me at first quick look (appearance and location relative to the pump inside the house) to be the well unexpectedly have all sorts of wires at the top when I pulled past its sell-by date the cap. I have expected this to be in a separate nouns.

So does this still sound similar to my well? Or do I stipulation to gently verbs adjacent to this? I hold only gone a few inches around thus far - but some rash owners built a porch over the well nouns so it is possible there is an originallyunplanned few inches of dirt.

I am thinking yes and i inevitability to pull the wires out of the channel and look down with a flashlight to confirm, but in attendance are is quite deeply of length to these wires in the opening.
In my opinion ,your grill is not DIY...call a pro!

Answers:    The wires you are seeing are probably going to the ELECTRIC pump located at the bottom of the well. You should also see a rope of some quality that the wires are twined around. Removing the wires may prove to be a tedious brief. Wear thick gloves and clothes you don't plan to wear to a bash because for some reason the rope get FILTHY over time. I know this because I have replaced several powerfully pumps.
To asnwer the other part of the grill, there are a few different sizes for well. There is the older, more traditional okay that is 3'-6' broad while there is the apparatus dug well which could be no more than 3" all-embracing.
If you are unsure, I would recommend calling a pro even just to look at it and confirm, if doing the actual work is your entity.
