Washing appliance drain vent vein? I am moving my washing machine from one wall to an against...
I am moving my washing machine from one wall to an against wall in the same room. The total move distance is 10ft. I plan to tie the trial drain line for the washing domestic device into the existing drain line with a Y connector. This system that the existing vent pipe will be upstream of the point where I tie in the topical drain line to the existing drain line. Will the existing vent column work for the new drain configuration or do I need to attach a new vent pipe at the new wash maching location?
Answers: Under UPC, the max length a 2" arm can be is 5 foot. That's center of vent to weir of trap.
Your wye connection description doesn't tell us much.
The space of the vent is required to be higher than the trap.
An improperly installed system is harder for us plumbers to fix, cable out, or troubleshoot when the time comes.
Have you get a friend in plumbing you could ask some advice from?
It should work ok as is. Try it next to a small load first then move up surrounded by size; If the machine drains ok then the setup is fine. codes usually appointment for less than 6 ft but it should work fine.
