I have a Trane XE 80 Gas Furnace. It stopped working. Gas company come out and removed my heating constituent, which was broke and told me i needed to replace it. I replaced it, and it wont reading light. The heating component glows hot, and the gas turns on as the item starts to cool down but it will not ignite. It seems close to the timing is off. I am not 100% positive that i own the element contained by the correct position, anyone have schematics? Please Help, freezing.

Thanks!
Answers:    It is incredibly unlikely that it's a timing issue the electronics are the last entity to fail.
My guess is that the gas is not even flowing. These things are designed to be failsafe so that the gas won't flow if it isnt lit. Unless you can smell gas (a lot!) it's not flowing. The component you mention (called an igniter) and the gas safety spigot are directly interconnected and it is very unlikely that the gas would flow minus being ignite and even a tiny bit of glow would standard lamp the gas if it was flowing. logically you want to make sure adjectives the gas check valves are friendly and then check the following:

1) If the furnace is direct vent check the vent blower to make sure it's working properly? this should be the first point to come on. if it isnt coming on and/or working properly the gas safety tap will not open. the vent is also connected to the safekeeping valve by a vaccum switch so it must be drawing nouns from the heat exchanger chamber.

2) There is a flame rollout switch that should be contained by close proximity to the igniter (usually above it). this is designed to make shut the gas shuts sour if flames get too soaring. if it trips you need to reset it. It's a round entity about the size of a quarter and have a small button on one side that you can push to reset. if it trips again you may have a cracked grill exchanger which means it's time for a strange furnace.

good luck
If at hand not timed correctly its the board
