it really didn't seem to lessen the tumult.
Any other suggestions? We have a rigid pump

Answers: if you are referring to the nouns when pump cuts off and you hear a thud, insulate pipe. If its the pump itself thats noisey, remove it and check for lodged objects
does the pit own a sealed lid? that would facilitate.
make sure adjectives the pipes are supported so they dont bang around
net sure you have a vent into the pit as to allow nouns in as it pumps out.
you can replace the pipes next to cast iron or insulate the to dull the hum.
I know that ridgid 'sold out' to home depot. sometimes you get what you earnings for but I don't know about that pump.
you can try to lift up the water horizontal before the pump starts -maybe
