Hi i have recently fitted a studded wall within the bedroom creating a walk in warbrobe. I want to nurture a new light contained by that area. I have looked at the exsisting electric wiring in the bedroom and it is an old system. There are 3 wires connecting to the live (None of which are permament lives) and one red lead which could be earth or neutral. I hold wired my lights to a switch and from the switch have fed twin core and land cable into the attic space. Where is the permanent live on theses systems so i can flex my new light surrounded by?

sounds like you enjoy a system where the live is looped through the switches as apposed to the ceiling rose.
so assuming all the unchanging lives are looped through the switches, you have to take your nurture from a switch to the switch you want to use and loop from the switch to the lamp and back.
