How much would it be to buy solar panels and enjoy it professionally installed? I'm looking for enough power to run AC within the summer. I have a 1500 sqft home.

Also, are the solar panel good for a long time?

Answers:    I use two skylight A/C units and I enjoy a 1600 SQ home. It may not be as hot here as it is at your place but works great for me.

You can run a 5000 BTU A/C unit that you buy at Freds department stores on in the order of 800 watts of solar modules. A 5000 BTU A/C uses about 6 amps at 120 volts running tricky. 120 volts times 6 amps = 720 Watts. So you might want to say 850 watts contained by panels for bake losses.

So about $10,000 to $15,000 depending on where on earth you are and who you are dealing with.

Sorry to report to you this, but in directive to run an ac unit you would obligation allot of solar panels , Probably at tiniest 10 acres , and the cost would be outrageous, Each panel does not put out a lot of power. may be cheaper to walk geothermal/heatpump setup.
