Should i tile over exsiting tile or verbs up everything?? we just bought our home, that be built in 1959, we hold...

we just bought our home, that be built in 1959, we hold a 1/2 bath that we are retiling-tile is from 1959..previous owners glazed over it beside a lime green, many source why to retile.. well i started beside the border of tile around the base of the wall that have wire mesh and nail i've removed all that; so near is like an 1inch or 2 perforation between the wall and the old tile very soon, (with mud bed underneath) I took a hammer and screw driver to the floor and get one tile up in a single piece. but i can inform that the mud bed is gonna get shabby from all the hammering i'm gonna do. explicitly why i'm not sure if i should just stop donate some sort of filler in the spaces between the wall and the old-fashioned tile and tile over it. i've already checked about the elevation issue with tallying tile over tile and its not a problem my sink is floating, and toliet could be raised and the saunter way is fine too. please comfort i've heard well-mannered and bad things in the region of tiling over tiles i want something to last a long time, thankfulness!
Answers:    I wouldn't strip the floor down to the joists, this is both costly and I'd expect a contractor, some at lowest, to do this for the money involved, no offense to anyone.
Don't hammer the tile out, use a long handle scraper, get one at Home Depot. After you've cleaned the floor, if you can't gain it all, build it as level as possible and float a wasted set mortar over it and level it, next put in 1/4 inch cement board, tile over that. I have to do this to both my kitchen and my bathroom.
We re-tiled our bathroom last year. I recommend starting from mark. I know it's more work, but I think it's worth it surrounded by the long run. Have fun, and good luck!!
