I have be having trouble penetrating for the name of an mature school interior non-automatic garage door crack system.
It has wires that connect to a inside twisty D shaped handle which have fallen rotten & needs to be replaced.
The side wires connect to little metal parts that verbs in when the touch is twisted & then a working torison spring system raise the door.
What is this handle system call or where can I lay down one?
Thanks!
Answers: Typically in a door similar to yours, there is a components called a "lock bar". This picture shows a lock tavern in a garage door http://www.diygaragerepair.com/v/vspfile...
It sounds approaching yours works a little differently by using a cable instead of a solid fishing rod to engage the locking fragment in the door track. What division is broken that needs to be replaced? Is it simply the handle or the cut that the handle connects to? Getting a replacement touch could be tricky. You could try taking it to a home center like Home Depot, Lowes and going to the garage door division to see if they have something else that will work.
A picture of what you are working next to would really be worth a thousand words.
ok it is an exterior lock. Go to a local garage door dealer and ask for an exterior lock. Sorry but thats what we ring up it at our shop.
