Can anyone give me some guidance, iv recently bought a house, and be set to decorate the dining room. I own stripped the walls, but underneath found what appears to be newly plastered walls, that enjoy been painted, past the wallpaper has be applied. The problem is the paint is peeling stale the walls as iv stripped it, so at the moment i couldnt put wallpaper over. I have be advised to use a scraper on the walls to carry excess off and after paint the walls with pva solution, but the scraper isnt getting much rotten unfortunatly. Does anyone know the best way to prepare these walls, should i use sandpaper to seize most bits off the walls, or is near something else you would reccommend? There is an awful lot of peeled paint on these walls, which is reasonably daunting at the moment!

Any advice would be great! Thanks contained by advance guys!

you can carry a heat torch from a diy store you boil the paint then use your scraper to score but its still hard work.if the paint is really sticking out infront of the plaster try you best to capture it off but for then freshly paint over it a couple times.you dont need no pva thsts to stop sucktion on the walls when plaster have just dried

My boyfriend and I are redo our bedroom and ran across a similar problem.

We purchased a bake gun (it looks like a fleece dryer) it heats up the paint and later you use the scraper, that works pretty well.

Or, I would suggest sand the walls to remove the peeling paint and to rack up the non peeling paint and afterwards paint or paper over the antediluvian sanded paint. This would solely really work if it's not peeling too desperate. If the WHOLE wall of paint looks like it's going to come sour...I would scrape the adjectives thing.

Either opening, it's quite a bit of work.

Good luck!
Answers:    your best bet is to scrabble as much off as you can . donate it a quick sand .if theres any holes or its not flat .smeer a shrunken coat of filler over it allow to dry then bestow quick sand.that should sort it
