I have a dresser to be exact currenlty painted but I want to paint it white now. I know that I own to strip the current paint and all that, but I am deeply trying to find out what the easiest/quickest method will be for me to do this project. Also, what steps I should take after I paint it white to clear the finish durable.
Answers: The last two answers be correct, but if you decide to step on top of what you hold, make sure you use a shellac-based primer. That will stamp off anything that might bleed through and explanation fish-eye. Then after your white coat is done you can use a spar varnish or polyurethane for more durability, but both of these will yellow contained by time. The only other push for I would give to you is to find a professional, but this is definately something you can do. Remember to read adjectives instructions.
If you want to strip it, use a product that contains methylene chloride and is a semi paste. This will drink away the paint. You will have to do this outside, wear gloves, accurate ventilaton, and then sand, prime, and paint. Or if the dresser looks okay immediately and just wishes a new color. you could only just sand, prime, and then paint . perfect luck.
