i am putting up a 6' redwood 1x6 fence & staining it with ducksback stain & would resembling to know if after staining, would it hurt to also seal it with thompsons hose seal
Answers:    DEFINATELY DO NOT USE THOMPSONS WATER SEAL.. it is one of the worst products on the market..Ducksback is in fact "cuprinol" which is one of the best products on the market... It has the sealer within it already..Once thompsons is used you can use nothing else and it is a terrible product..adjectives it is is parrafin and mineral spirits mixed as a thinning agent..You will have such a mess afterwards..that when it comes time..You cannot redo it even powerwashing... Cuprinol(ducksback) is adjectives you need..and once it's time has expired on the barrier..You simply retreat it with cuprinol again..(8 to 10 years)..PLEASE DO NOT USE THOMPSONS...
That is a great idea but you will have need of to let it dry first. Look at the directions for the water trademark and it should tell you or the info on the stain.
