I want to choose an electric shower but before i choose any a 8.5 or 9.5 Kw model i would like to know please the maximum cable length permitted for both contained by 6mm sq and 10mm sq. My reason for asking apart from the sanctuary issue, is that10mm twin & earth can be remarkably expensive.
I know you probably get this info contained by the showers instructions but, i want the info to help me choose a shower since i purchase. Also, any criticisms of the (relatively cheap) Gainsborough 8.5 and 9.5 showers please? other than i suppose you go and get what you pay for.

You might want to consider a thermostatic power shower. It can run from a lighting circuit. And if you are plumbing surrounded by cold water to your electric shower later you may as well plumb surrounded by hot & cold water to a thermostatic power shower. It's an adjectives in one section, fits on the wall, and won't hammer your electricity bill. If you already own a tank of hot dampen from your central heat, why not use that?

Hi at hand is am an NICEIC registered electrician before you establish on which cable is required you need to know how for the shower is from your distribution board (fuse box) adjectives 9.5 showers require 10.0mm cable 8.5 showers can use 6.0mm cable provided it is within 7 linier metres from the distribution box. otherwise you requirement 10.0
In either suitcase its illegal for you to carryout the work yourself. In april 06 unmarked laws where on earth brought in to prevent population undertaking electrical work almost all work requests to be certified by a qualified electrician.
When you come to sell your house you will be asked for the authorization if its rented property your landlord will want the warrant.
Answers: You one and only do it once so,Forget the cost,Use 10,mm cable,That will give you maximum lenght plus a much better choice of shower.
