ok so i put in ne pvc pipe that runs to by hip bath tub. i cleaned all the fittings and used paste, but now adjectives the joints are leak for some reason. its topical pipe, should i have used more epoxy resin and maybe smeared some out the outside of the fittings to? gratefulness!
Did you use the cleaner-solvent, before you put on the bonding agent? I know their are different types of PVC, is your glue the right type? You might try going to a plummer supply store and showing them what your trying to do...conceivably they can tell you whats going on.
For PVC you should use primer (often purple colored) on both sides of the communal, let it dry.
Then thieve PVC glue and apply it to both sides of the communal and immediately connect the reciprocated, hold it for a few seconds, later move on to the subsequent joint.
As long as you are using the right cement on the right pipe, they shouldn't leak. At this point, if you can verbs the joints apart and re-do, you might be OK.
If you can't verbs the joints apart, you will imagined have to start over next to new pipe.
Answers: No, but you have to install correctly and consequently let it set until that time you pressurize the system. The joints (both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the socket you are putting together) want to be clean and free of any dirt or oil. Make sure your cuts on the pipe are square, this gives you the maximum amount of surface contact for the collective. The use of a primer will help the nouns of the joint. Apply a liberal amount of glue to the outside of the pipe AND the inside of the socket. Press the two pieces together until the pipe have seated against the stop iin the socket. Twist the pieces at least 1/2 turn to spread the bonding agent and help remove any nouns bubbles. Hold pressure on the joint for at least possible 1 minute. Do not do any additional work on the pipe near the joint that may explanation the joint to verbs apart for at least 15 minutes.
PVC pipe is white surrounded by color ...to join PVC pipe together u call for a cleaner and a glue.the cleaner is purple within color...swab it on the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting.when dry swab on the glue (clear contained by color ) to the outside of the pipe and to the inside of the fitting.push the pipe into the fitting and gave a quarter turn
ABS pipe is black within color and just wants a glue to bring together it together..no cleaner is needed.I add cement to the pipe and fitting and turn the pipe as u push it together
I other use the "blue" pipe cement. It will set under dampen. Be sure and cut the pipes square and push it all the bearing in to the fitting after giving both the pipe and the fitting a coat of cement.
I roughly wipe the pipe with fine sandpaper first and I enjoy had exceptionally few problems with leak. Twist the pipe 1/4 turn or so when putting it together and hold it in place for 10 second like the instructions influence. Use plenty of cement, it doesn't cost much and it flows thin so it wont clog anything.
Good luck
